Gov. John Hickenlooper announced today he will call a special legislative session to decide whether or not Colorado will allow civil unions, reports the Denver Post. On Tuesday night, a filibuster killed the civil union bill, along with dozens of other bills, at midnight. "I think our goal is to make sure we do everything we can to try to make sure there is a fair, open debate on the floor of the House and the Senate," the governor said to the Denver Post. Farmers markets are opening this month in Denver to offer fresh produce direct from the growers. The farmers markets in Cherry Creek and Highlands Ranch have already opened for the season, and the City Park Esplanade Fresh Market will open on Saturday, May 13.
